Description
I always wanted to write an updated classical symphony, and here I
acknowledge certain aspects of Prokofiev, as well as deliberate
references in the orchestration, to the composers of the 18th century.
The first movement uses a re-orchestrated version of the overture to
Loves' Labours Lost [B5b] and the last movement orchestrates the music
of the discarded last movement of the Flute Sonata [B16].
The piece was completed in January 2013 and is dedicated to my wife
Rayna.
The four movements are:-
1. Allegretto
2. Poco adagio
3. Tempo di menuetto, ma scherzando
4. Allegro
