Description
This work was begun in November 1997 and completed the following month. It has three movements.
The first is an allegro with a short slow introduction and contrasts tonal and atonal ideas.
The second movement is a pastoral adagio and the third a moto perpetuo with nonsensical themes which eventually run out of momentum.
The work was voted Best Wind Quintet at the London Chamber Group Piece of the Year Competition in 2003.
